Từ 08/06, việc hút thuốc sẽ bị cấm ở 52 công viên và vườn ở Paris (10% không gian xanh của thủ đô) để hưởng ứng Ngày Thế giới không thuốc lá.
Quyết định được đưa ra sau khi đã thử nghiệm tại 6 công viên từ tháng 7/2018. Theo đó, những người vi phạm trong những tuần đầu tiên sẽ bị nhắc nhở và tiến đến việc phạt vi phạm 38€ bắt đầu khoảng tháng 7.
Những biện pháp chống hút thuốc mới này đã được thêm vào lệnh cấm thuốc lá kể từ năm 2015 tại 500 sân chơi của công viên Paris. Hội đồng thành phố Paris cũng đã bỏ phiếu vào tháng Hai về việc thành lập mười chín đường phố “không có khói thuốc lá”.
Tại Marseille, quyết định cấm thuốc lá đã đưa ra, và áp dụng tại các bãi biển: Pointe-Rouge, Borély và Bonneveine. Theo luật pháp thành phố, điều này nhằm ” bảo vệ những người không hút thuốc khỏi những nguy hiểm của việc hút thuốc thụ động và bảo vệ bờ biển khỏi chất thải (tàn, than, v.v.)”. Việc sử dụng narguilé hoặc chicha, bị cấm trên tất cả các bãi biển của Marseille.
Saint-Malo (Ille-et-Vilaine), Ouistreham (Calvados), Propriano (Corse-du-Sud)…,một số thành phố và khu nghỉ mát bên bờ biển này đã cấm thuốc lá trong những năm gần đây, bắt đầu với Nice, nơi đầu tiên, được áp dụng vào năm 2012, vì một bãi biển không có thuốc lá.
